Lena is a doctoral candidate in the Psychology department at Yale working with Dr. BJ Casey and Dr. Richard Aslin at Haskins Laboratories. Lena received her BA in Psychology from New York University in 2014 under the mentorship of Dr. Lila Davachi and Dr. Athena Vouloumanos. She then went on to be a lab manager at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign working with Dr. Daniel Hyde before beginning graduate school in 2016. Lena's research focuses on how learning and memory change across the lifespan in regions of the brain like the hippocampus that have protracted development into adolescence. Specifically, she is interested in the content of information we successfully remember, and how forgetting might be adaptive at particular developmental stages. Lena enjoys running and playing soccer for fun, and so that she can eat copious amounts of pasta.
