May graduated with a B.A. from the University of Montana in 2014, where she double-majored in Psychology with a focus in Research and Environmental Studies with a focus in Food and Farming. Prior to joining the FABLAB, May worked as Research Staff at the Sackler Institute for Developmental Psychobiology in New York City. During her undergraduate career she worked in the Research on Implementation Science and Trauma in Youth (RISTY) Lab while also working for non-profits doing food justice work with adjudicated youth, adults with developmental disabilities, and community volunteers. May is interested in the interactions between physical and mental health, and how environmental factors influence neurobiological development and behavior. She splits her time between New Haven and Brooklyn where she has a flock of 5 mighty chickens.
